Ronnie O'Sullivan is back in the spotlight after his return to snooker for the World Championship - and World Snooker Sport has a look at his eye-watering net worth
Ronnie O'Sullivan is back at the baize - and he's eyeing another cash prize at the World Snooker Championship.
The Rocket, 49, returned after four months away from the sport, and he's made his way to the semi-finals where he was drawn against Zhao Xingtong. He's already landed a cool £100k for his semi-final run - and that could rise if he makes it to the final - although it wasn't looking good on Friday afternoon, as the seven time champ found himself 12-4 down against Zhao Xintong.
His net worth is already in the multi-millions. The Rocket has a reported net worth of £32m according to the Mirror as well as amassing an estimated £13.9m in prize money - including £876,000 last season - he has made a fortune in other ventures including commercial sponsorship deals.
O'Sullivan has published three novels, three autobiographies and even a cook book to add to his vast fortune. The seven-time World Snooker Championship winner has even been dropping clues about his potential pivot to new format Chinese 8-Ball - which could pocket yet more cash.
The Rocket, who's certainly not short of cash, might be eyeing more than just a payday with his penchant for playing in China, despite having signed on the dotted line to be Saudi Arabia's snooker ambassador.
He has has always been vocal about his sponsorship deals shaping his career trajectory.
Although he's getting on in years compared to the fresh-faced players coming through, O'Sullivan signalled he's not thinking of packing it in anytime soon.
He explained: "I can't keep playing snooker against the young guys, getting up for it, match-in-match-out, I don't want to be playing just for the sake of it," he confessed last November. "I want to keep playing for the next 10 to 15 years, earning a living, having a good time."
Away from the sport, he was been dealing with a recent split from actress partner Laila Rouass.
The Rocket and Laila have reportedly gone their separate was after getting together in 2012. It has been reported that O'Sullivan's jam-packed snooker schedule is behind the decision.
The couple have separated before, in 2022, but they patched things up. A source told The Sun: "Ronnie and Laila really threw themselves back into their relationship after the split a couple of years ago.
"He kept posting pics of them online at home together and saying romantic things on special occasions, but that’s all come to a halt. They’ve tried so hard but they just can’t make it work.”
Laila confirmed the split in December with an Instagram post: "Break ups can strip you down to your essence. I got through mine by using pain as fuel to take control because no matter what, we will lose parts of ourselves in relationships. It's normal, don't beat yourself up."
